This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading materials supplier as a Planner/Buyer based in Shirley. My client have been established for over 10 years and have shown continual signs of growth. Due to this, there is now a requirement for a full time Planner/Buyer to join their team.

This is a varied and busy role where you will work closely with Management on a daily basis to achieve company goals.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Set daily, weekly and monthly Production Plans in line with sales requirements and work closely with internal departments to ensure these are achieved
  • Play an active role in Lean Management meetings
  • Continuously assess and improve planning systems
  • Use MRP system to identify/place purchase orders for production materials and expedite as required; identify and generate orders for internal departments
  • Maintain accurate supplier forecasts
  • Work towards order and production targets
  • Monitor all inventory levels, finished goods and raw materials, to maximise Company financial objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures is maintained
  • Work towards continuous improvement methods

The successful Planner/Buyer will have previously worked within a similar role and have the ability to take ownership and self manage. You will have excellent knowledge of MRP systems as well as good general IT skills. Candidates with a technical background in planning and buying would be beneficial to this role.

A fantastic communicator who can work well with others, negotiate with suppliers and build relationships is essential.

The ability to speak Mandarin would be an advantage but is not essential.
