We are recruiting a Food Compliance Technologist for a leading and successful food manufacturing company based in Caerphilly, South Wales paying a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Location: Bedwas, Caerphilly

The successful Food Compliance Technologist will be responsible for ensuring all food labelling in regard to ingredients and additives are correct in accordance with the customer specification, as EU / UK legislation. Reporting to the Technical Compliance Manager this role will be co-ordinating and managing the site technical systems, ensuring that stored data relating to finished products and ingredients is current and provides the correct food safety, quality and legal information.

Key Accountabilities

·Ensure products are manufactured to standards that meet all agreed internal and external requirements / specifications
·To collate the key performance data and generate the reports internally
·To support the Technical Department in developing and maintaining a quality culture throughout the site through the provision of accurate and timely data and documentation, and to support the operations team
·Write, approve and maintain finished product specifications and ensure that all specifications and labels comply with legislation and customer codes of practice.
·Review product recipes and ingredients, ensuring customer policies and codes of practice are met


·Minimum of 5 years experience as a Food Technologist / Specification Technologist for a leading retailer or food manufacturer
·Strong awareness of FIR regulations
·Background within a chilled food / short shelf life environment
·Previous experience of writing of approving food specifications using the systems of major retailers
·Applied knowledge of UK / EU food labelling legislation
·A competent user of IT software including; Outlook, MS word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·Good communicator with strong oral and written communication abilities.
