Working for a local Council within their Benefits team this role is initially for a fixed term period of 18 months and 30 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will have previously worked in a support role within a Benefit claims/Housing department within a local authority/council previously.
The role will involve the preparation, verification and assessment of Benefit Claims including housing and council tax,
You will be required to :
- Attend Council Meetings as required
- Verify Housing Benefit applications checking for errors
- Processing of documents and changes to records
- Identifying false/ fraudulent claims
- recover overpayments
- processing of claims for backdated rebates
The ideal candidate will have a NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related discipline or knowledge of Benefits/ Claims processes along with IT and excellent communication skills.
Commutable locations include Wellingborough, Northampton, Kettering Corby, Rushden, Peterborough, Daventry
