£13 p/h, Town Centre, 6am to 10am - Monday & 6am to 9am - Tuesday to Friday, 28 days leave, perm, Immediate Start
Job Role
Our Huddersfield town centre based client are looking to recruit a Cleaning Supervisor to join their team.
Key purpose of the role
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the post holder will be required to supervise a cleaning team of two cleaners as well as work as part of the cleaning team on a day to day basis
Person Specification
- The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate cleaning supervisor experience, team management, good organisational skills and be a key team member.
- Have basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Be willing to become a registered first aider.
- Have knowledge of COSHH and other health and safety processes
- Have basic IT skills using emails, Word and Excel.
- Have the ability to develop strong relationships with staff.
- The ability to organise, plan and complete tasks.
- The ability to respond flexibly to new challenges.
- Have experience of using a range of cleaning products and equipment.
Role specific responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, undertake the supervision of the cleaning staff
- Maintain health and safety and risk assessment standards, reporting any failures to comply with to the Facilities Manager or Chief Executive
- Be a part of the cleaning team on a day to day basis operating one of the cleaning schedules
- Cover for absence where required
- Arrange work schedules
- Monitor cleaning duties
- Identify staff training needs
- Carry out quality audits and monitor performance
- Take part in the recruitment selection processor for any new cleaners
- Induction train new members of the cleaning team and provide toolbox talks to the existing team
- Monitor, manage and authorise cleaner annual leave to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained
- Complete return to work interviews and ensure the appropriate documentation has been received following sickness absence
- Ordering supplies of cleaning materials
