CMM Manager

£50,000 - £57,640 per annum, Rotherham, Permanent position, 22 days annual leave plus stats (30 in total) increasing to 35 days, private health care, monthly bonus scheme, 9% contributory pension, free car parking and on site canteen facilities.

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our world-renowned client as a Senior CMM Manager on a full time, permanent basis. This company offers a state of the art purpose built premises that provides a modern and clean working environment with progression opportunities in the future.

You will be reporting into the Chief Operating Officer and overseeing a team of 7. Your duties within the role of Senior CMM Manager will be to:

• Lead and oversee all metrology and CMM activities, ensuring accurate inspection of aerospace castings and patterns.

• Manage dimensional measurement and analysis, working closely with the departmental manager.

• Take responsibility for the performance and upkeep of Faro and Hexagon scanning arms and Hexagon CMM machines.

• Ensure CMM inspections meet aerospace quality standards with high accuracy and repeatability.

• Maintain equipment calibration, validation routines, and verification processes in line with ISO and aerospace requirements.

• Develop and implement inspection procedures and best practices across the metrology department.

• Support the day-to-day leadership of the CMM team and department operations.

• Provide technical input in NCR reviews, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Liaise with customers and internal production teams to address inspection results and align with delivery schedules.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, capability, and inspection processes.

• Mentor and develop the CMM team, ensuring strong technical competency.

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and internal quality systems, while supporting audits and maintaining accurate documentation.

We would expect the successful Senior CMM Manager to be able to demonstrate previous experience within a similar role within the aerospace industry and would be required to have:

• Experience with 3D laser scanning and metrology systems

• In-depth understanding of aerospace tolerances and standards

• Proficiency in metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS,)

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability

• Experience of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Experience in CMM/metrology within aerospace or manufacturing

• Proven experience in managing inspection or metrology teams

• Strong understanding of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems
