£30,000 - £35,000 DOE, Burgess Hill (Outskirts), Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm, 25 days holiday, parking, pension
The Role
We are delighted to partnering with a wonderful business in the aviation component repair sector in their search for a Logistics Officer to join their business. Working as part of a small, valued team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics operations, including the coordination of transportation. This role ensures that all logistical activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company procedures. Ensuring all goods are imported and exported in accordance with HMRC regulations and ensuring an audit trail is in place for HMRC audits. The Logistics Officer is crucial for optimizing the logistics processes, reducing costs, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support maintenance and operational needs.
- Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, operations & stores teams to ensure timely delivery of required items and booking transportation considering commercial awareness and best price.
- Raising PO's for logistics ensuring pricing is recorded for efficient payment
- Plan and oversee the transportation of goods, including international and domestic shipments.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to support the efficient movement of materials and parts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with couriers.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in logistics management.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding logistics activities and timelines.
- Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Ensuring all goods are imported and exported correctly IAW with HMRC regulations, controlling records and audit trail. Preparation and leading of HMRC Audits
- Participating in regular customs compliance training to ensure the company is compliant at all times
Requirements
To be successful in the role of Logistics Officer, experience in a logistics-based role is necessary. You will be a proactive & customer-focused individual who thrives on building strong relationships and providing outstanding service every time. You will be confident and capable of handling multiple tasks in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. Due to the rural location - it's essential you have your own transport. This role could suit someone who has worked as an Logistics Executive, Logistics Planner, Logistics.

- Burgess Hill outskirts (own transport required)

- Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm (2x 15-minute breaks, plus 30-minute lunch)
