Machinist

Due to an increase in growth, we are proud to be seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to be based within a world-class engineering facility in the Sheffield area, joining their team on a full time permanent basis. As a Manual Machinist, reporting into the Machine Shop Supervisor, day to day duties will include:

Setting and operating vertical boring, milling and lathe machines.

Use overhead cranes to load and unload machinery. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Ensuring paper records are kept up to date and organised correctly.

Using measuring equipment such as verniers and callipers to identify any defects.

Ensure daily housekeeping tasks are completed to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.

• As a Manual Machinist you will be required to:
• Work with required tolerances.
• Possess a willingness to work overtime as and when required.
• Positive and eager attitude towards work and learning new thing.
• Adhere to the companies housekeeping rules.
• Ensure work area is clean, tidy and safe at all times.

This role would suit someone with experience working as a Manual Machinist, Machinist, Manual Turner, Vertical Lathe Operator, Lathe Operator, Manual Setter or a Setter Operator within a manufacturing, production, castings or engineering environment.
