£31,880 slary or £16.57 per hour, plus plenty of overtime opportunities, enhanced holiday pay, permanent, Keynsham BS31, 33 days holiday, working Monday to Friday 37 hour week , core hours 7.30 - 15.30, early finish Friday, pension, parking.

Our client is an established and highly respected manufacturer who operates a friendly team of engineers and has an opportunity to work in a permanent or temp to perm role as a manual turner where you will manage your own workload with jobs allocated from the engineering supervisor.

The manual turner role involves:

• Manual machining
• Manual turning but any cnc turning experience is also of interest
• Machining precision parts and components producing one off's and small batches.
• Reading engineering drawings
• Working to non-aerospace tolerances
• Any basic cnc machining is also of interest but not essential
• Select appropriate materials for each job as described in the drawings
• Self inspect components and report any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed

The manual turner role requires

• Candidates may have served an engineering apprenticeship as a skilled machinist
• Any City & Guilds or NVQ or equivalent Engineering qualifications would be suitable however candidates who are time served in machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in manual milling or turning
• This would be the ideal role for someone who has worked as a manual turner but any CNC Turning or milling skills are also of interest and could lead to a higher salary.
