Plater Fabricator

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a candidate who is used to plating and fabricating heavy products over 20/30mm thick. Temporary contract, but, although not guaranteed, our client is hoping to take the person on permanently long term.

As the Plater Fabricator your responsibilities will be:

Preparing and assembling metal plates and sections for various heavy industrial applications.

Cutting and shaping metal plates 20/30mm thick, using various tools and machines e.g. saws and bending machines.

Plating, welding, and fabricating large structural components like tanks, vessels and bridges.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy.

Operating machinery such as CNC machines and plate cutting machines to facilitate tasks.

Ensuring quality control by adhering to safety standards and quality control procedures.

Key skills and experience required:

Previous experience as a plater in a heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Competence in MIG welding (other welding processes an advantage).

Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

Physically fit and able to work in an industrial environment.

Pay rate: £17.50 p/h + overtime

Overtime 1: Saturday x 1.5 time

Overtime 2: Sunday Double time

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 6am-2:30pm & Friday 6am-1pm

Holidays: 28 days increasing to 32 (24 days + bank holidays) if taken on permanently
