We are seeking a Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager to work for a well established and successful manufacturer of precision machined tooling and one offs. This role will be working within a production environment located in Bristol and offers a good benefits package.

The Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager will be managing the CNC machining and engineering production staff on the shop floor, ensuring the smooth progression of machined tooling and one off manufactured parts and components for the precision engineering and aerospace industry.
The Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager will co-ordinate and manage a team of engineers and toolmakers, so strong managerial and people management skills are essential. This role will report directly to the Technical director of the company.
In addition, you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of work, so any experience in ERP systems would be beneficial, so it is essential to be computer literate. You will be responsible for traceability and ensuring customer satisfaction in terms of accurate lead times and deadlines met for work going through the machine shop, so clear and efficient communication and liaison with other internal departments and customers is key.
The Production manager / Machine shop manager / Engineering work shop manager will also liaise closely with the quality department to ensure the relevant quality standards are maintained and have a full understanding of relevant health and Safety guidelines.
The ideal candidate will come from a precision engineering background and any tooling or toolmaking expertise working with one off's would be beneficial as well as previous production or relevant engineering management experience. Mechanical or technically related subjects with supervisory / managerial experience and recognised engineering and or managerial qualifications are preferable, as well as knowledge of modern production and CNC machining practices in aerospace or precision engineering environments.
You could come from a time served machining, toolmaking or precision engineering background with City and Guilds or NVQ or HNC or degree level or equivalent qualifications. Managerial qualifications as well as knowledge of modern production and CNC machining practices and methodologies would be ideal.
