The Role
We are delighted to be working with our client, a commercial bakery and food production business in their search for a Skilled Production Operative to join their team. Working within the bakery team, this role will working within the finishing section of the production line for 70% of the time, so your will include icing cakes, and adding toppings to baked goods. The rest of your time will be spent supporting the general production of goods including weighing and mixing ingredients, baking goods and operating food manufacturing machinery.
- Use production machinery such as pastry brake and heated jacket vessels
- Top products with various toppings and icings
- Weigh and mix raw materials and ingredients accurately to recipes
- Produce products following the schedule and recipes
- Complete paperwork and quality checks frequently
- Support the wider production line
Requirements
To be successful in the role of Production Operative, we are looking for someone who has some experience in a food manufacturing environment. Ideally you will have a qualification in food hygiene or food safety and have a good understanding of allergy control. You will be comfortable working in manufacturing, and have some experience using some food production machinery. If you have experience in product finishing departments, this will be beneficial. This role could suit someone who has worked as a food production operative, food manufacturing operative or food factory worker.
Please note, that only candidates with some exposure to a food manufacturing environment will be considered.

Package
£23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending on experience
Monday to Friday 7am - 3:30pm
23 days holiday + 7 bank holidays + lieu day (the business work on Good Friday) (3 days to be used in Christmas shutdown)
