Teacher of Computer Science

Full Time Role

My client is a very successful school in the Grantham area with a fantastic reputation. 

Computing is a popular and successful subject in the school with a significant number of students going on to study the Computer Science at university. 

Initially, at Key Stage 3 the students receive one lesson per week through all three years. This is primarily focused on IT literacy and Computing, involving project-based work using Scratch, Fusion and VB6, alongside the Microsoft Office Suit and Adobe Creative software. 

At Key Stage 4 the school offer OCR Computing, usually with two groups. This leads to the AQA Computing at A level. The main software used in the courses are MS Access, MS Excel, SQL and VB.Net, although other languages are included where relevant. 

The teaching is carried out in three suites of fully equipped classrooms. Each room is equipped with a digital whiteboard, a PC linked to the School network and a digital projector. All the computers in the school are centrally managed and have full access to Microsoft 365. 

The department is well run,well-resourced and offers many opportunities for students to embellish their education in Computer Science outside of the school grounds.

This is a full time opportunity, Monday to Friday therefore planning will be required but PPA time will be made available in the timetable and you will be expected to throw yourself into school life!

The post is to start in September 2022.

Applications are welcome from Newly Qualified Teachers as well as experienced Computer Science Teachers.

To be considered you must be a qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) with relevant Computer Science experience and hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, although Travail Education can facilitate a new DBS application if required.

You will be required to have a face to face interview in Grantham.
