Thirsk, £12.80 p/h, 40hrs per week, permanent, progression, free parking, company profit share bonus scheme, company pension

We are looking to recruit recently qualified level 2 joiners with a real passion for woodwork, looking for their first role.

This is an excellent opportunity to train as a Bench Joiner or Wood Machinist alongside highly skilled staff producing high end joinery products in a targeted production environment.

The role:

• Workshop based you will be observing and learning from skilled bench joiners
• Operating a variety of wood working machinery including ban saws, edge sanders, routers, straight and profile edgebanders, a hot press, mitre saw, hand routers, orbital sanders
• Fitting timber batons
• Profiling edges using hand trimmers or spindle moulder
• Working in the laminate department, hot pressing laminate to cores
• Sanding and preparing components for finishing
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

The Person:

• Passionate about learning Joinery or qualified to NVQ level 2 in Joinery
• A team player with a hard-working attitude
• Enthusiastic and keen to learn
• Experience working with a range of hand tools, saws and wood working machinery
• The ability to read and work to drawings
• Confident knowledge of different wood
