Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a locally based prestigious school in Burgess Hill who are actively looking for an Admissions Officer. The focus of this role is to be proactive, efficient and effective in recruiting UK and International students that meet the requirements of the school's Strategic Marketing Plan. This is a whole school role, covering all admissions from Nursery to Sixth Form.

The core duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and develop contacts and links to the school from other schools both locally and further afield
  • Work closely with the Marketing Consultant and Head of Events and Offterm to develop strategies for attracting and retaining students
  • Proactively follow up on all admissions leads, respond to incoming queries from prospective parents and arrange taster days
  • Report to the Head and Senior leadership team where requested, demonstrating progress against set targets
  • Provide detailed statistics on admissions and suggest new ways in which this process can be improved
  • Feedback on reasons why applicants who decline a place or fail to register
  • Manage the assessment process for all prospective students
  • Support the Head of Events and Offterm in producing innovative and effective open days and other admissions events
  • Maintain the admissions database ensuring it is accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements at all times
  • Co-ordinate and run prospective parent visits, liaising with relevant staff
  • Organise overseas recruiting visits
  • Work with the Data manager to enhance the functionality of the database
  • Take appropriate action for any scheduled visits from prospective students from overseas and liaising with the Tier 4 company responsible for student Visas

Key skills required:

  • At least 2 year's experience working in an administrative/office-based role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience of producing statistics and sales reports
  • Proven track record of working within a sales/target driven environment - managing a process from initial enquiry through to enrolment
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to produce more meaningful and reliable information
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own
  • Proactive, hands on and self-motivated
  • Organised and efficient
  • Diplomatic
  • Flexible approach to duties and working hours
  • Be able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
