Workshop Team Leader Mechanical Fitting & Welder

York area

40hr week lots of overtime available pd at 1.5x's

We are seeking a confident candidate with team leading experience in a Mechanical Fitting and Welding environment to work in a busy work shop on the outskirts of York. This is a hands on role where you will work alongside your team taking responsibility for ensuring product quality and meeting production targets.

The role of the Workshop Team Leader include:

Reporting into the production manager, overseeing day to day manpower and allocation of work

Planning, overseeing and undertaking strip out, replacement of parts, repair work, fitting, drilling, grinding, fabrication and welding

Undertaking inspection and ensuring the quality of finished parts

Ensure work is completed to customer specification reporting an non-conformance or problems as they arise

As the Workshop Team Leader you will:

Have extensive hands on experience as a welder / fitter

Be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings

Have experience of both new build and repair work

Be able to lead a team to work to set deadlines

Be happy to undertake lots of overtime

Have worked in a similar environment previously

Have your own transport.

Have a can do attitude to work

We are particular interested in hearing from forces trained mechanics and engineers
